DEVELOPING THE FORENSIC CAPACITY OF CIVIL SOCIETY FOR JUSTICE

Civil society organizations have been trained to effectively document human rights violations and to contribute in gathering evidence for objective investigation. This increased their understanding on their roles and contribution to strengthen the enforcement of rule of law. The training was conducted in Quezon City, Pampanga, and Cebu City.
The training started with Dr. Raquel Fortun, a forensic pathologist, on proper documentation for case buildup. After that, Vincent Go, a news photographer, shared his experiences in documenting and taking photos of crime scene and oriented on basic guidelines on photography. Malou Mangahas, an investigative journalist, imparted knowledge on how to further stregthen documentation by getting different types of sources, conducting interviews, and types of evidences.
