In an effort to promote accountability for human rights violations, the Medical Action Group (MAG) conducted a two-day capacity building to medical doctors to strengthen their documentation and investigation practices. The training entitled, “UNCOVERING THE BODY OF EVIDENCE: A Physicians’ Training for Medico Legal Documentation”, was held on October 4-5, 2018. As part of its continuous advocacy on torture prevention, MAG launches a three-year project, “Heal not Harm: Preventing Torture in the Philippine Health Care Setting”, which aims to disseminate information, document, and identify areas of torture and illegal detention in the Philippine health care setting.
MAG, together with the IRCT, has been continuously working to fight impunity in the Philippines by strengthening civil society and health sector partnerships to implement the Anti-Torture Act and to provide rehabilitation and documentation services to victims.
